"Collecting Delinquent Municipal Fees" Seminar presented by Siana, Bellwoar & McAndrew, LLP

On June 7, 2010, Stephen V. Siana, Michael G. Crotty, Eric M. Brown and Michael T. Taylor presented a seminar entitled “Collecting Delinquent Municipal Fees” on behalf of Pennsylvania State Association of Boroughs (“PSAB”) at the Franklin Commons in the Borough of Phoenixville. The program was hosted by the Borough of Phoenixville and provided municipal officials, administrators and attorneys with an understanding of the basic framework of the various municipal collections laws, together with some practical tips for identifying and addressing collection issues before and after they arise. Included in the seminar were topics such as: the effects of delinquent accounts on a municipal budget, types of costs and fees that can be collected, methods to collect delinquent accounts and municipal bankruptcy.
